About us
Weegmanns has been a Otley landmark since we first opened our doors back in 1869. Since then, the Weegmann name has stood for exceptional quality and unbeatable customer service. Today, we proudly carry on those traditions and continue to serve the people of Otley and beyond, with a wide selection of outstanding meat, as well as a large variety of cooked products including handmade pies and wholesome family meals.
History
In 1869, a German immigrant named W Weegmann opened a butcher shop in Otley. That butcher shop, would go on to provide the people of West Yorkshire with great quality meats and exceptional service for the next 100 years.
In 1969, the Smithson family took over the business, inheriting both the Weegmann name and the proud history that came with it. Over the last 45 years, we have worked hard to uphold the high standards and traditional values of the Weegmann family, while also bringing our own unique flavour to the business.
Award winning products
We are proud to have received a number of accolades for our own-made products. This year, The Confederation of Yorkshire Butchers Councils named our burger, “Best Burger in Yorkshire” within the Great Yorkshire Pork Pie, Sausage & Products Competition. While in previous years our exceptional black pudding was crowned “Best Black Pudding in Yorkshire.”
